Dr. Amann was born and raised on Staten Island and practices in her home community. She attended Wagner College as well as New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Amann received her doctorate in 1982.
She is married and has one son. Dr. Amannn is a member of the American Dental Assoc., the New York State Dental Assoc., the Second District Dental Society, the Richmond County Dental Society, the Greater S.I. Study Club, the American Prosthodontic Society, the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Amann is certified in implant dentistry by Nobel Biocare and she is also certified by Invisalign, the makers of "invisible braces".
She has been recognized by Who's Who of American Women as well as Who's Who of Professional Women.

I was appalled at how she spoke to her staff. She was coarse in her treatment of me as well. Which makes a root canal like that much worse. Her schedule was full mostly for two weeks after and I work full time and go to school full time. So I booked a day where I would have to miss class rather than work. I missed two classes to make my appointment on time. I waited in the office for thirty minutes before my appointment to have the dentist peek out and say that she had forgotten to call me and cancel our appointment because she had plans. The office is ridiculous in total, not just because of how thoughtless and rude she is, but because they overcharge you while screwing you over.

Dr. Amann performed an emergency procedure on a filling that needed to be fixed. The tooth was easily fixed and the experience was very professional. I couldn't have been there more than 30 total minutes. It was affordable and I payed out of pocket. Will defintely go back.

Staff was friendly. Dr. Amann was quite rude and made it a point to immediately say "If you cannot afford payment we can do one step at a time" after informing us of the services that would be needed - while I sat in the chair. Not only were we over charged but she missed a cavity that needed to be filled and upon a return visit because of pain she then noticed it in the x-ray.
