My adult son has autism and when I said "I need to go back with him" when his name was called, the assistant said "no, that is only for children younger than 6..he will be FINE alone." Well, how would she know how he is if she has never met him? It happened twice...I explained quietly to the receptionist that they needed to be more understanding of people with developmental disabilities, but I don't feel like they cared.
