The office and the staff were excellent. His assistant Bonnie was absolutely amazing, informative and very professional. Dr. Sommer was very patient and took his time to explain every thing that he was doing and planning to do for me in the future. I will be going back for my next visit very soon. Dr. Sommer attended Brooklyn College of the City University of NY and earned a BS in Biological Sciences cum laude in 1978. He went on to attend the New York University College of Dentistry earning his D.D.S. degree in 1982. After dental school, Dr. Sommer continued his dental training at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center and was awarded a certificate for the completion of a General Practice Residency Program
Dr. Sommer is a member in good standing of the Nassau County Dental Society, The NYS Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
Believing strongly in the value of continuing dental education, Dr. Sommer is an active member of the Atlantic Beach Continuum for Dental Education, formerly the Peninsula Hospital Dental Society, The Eastern Queens Dental Study Group and the Lake Success ITI Implant Study Group. Dr. Sommer receives well over 50 hours of continuing education credits each year in subjects such as implant dentistry, esthetic dentistry, dental materials science and adhesive dentistry.
Dr. Sommer is a former member of the clinical faculty of the Jamaica Hospital Dental Department teaching Endodontics to the general dental practice residents.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Sommer enjoys skiing, golf, photography and travel with his wife of 33 years, Dr. Lori Sommer and his three children.

Great staff and service! Everyone in the office was kind, friendly, and happily smiling all the time, I was satisfied from the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out.There was absolutely no waiting time and I got personal attention the entire appointment time. And Dr. Sommer took care of everything himself, from the cleaning to the exam and even taking the time to teach me how to take better care of my teeth! Great experience!

So far, Dr Sommer has been the greatest. Very thorough with his explanation and exam. I've been to two dentists before him, and I really thought I needed 3 major procedures, but he took the time to check if they were necessary and ...NOPE! Such a relief to hear. I feel at ease with Dr. Sommer and the staff. They're honest and care about their patients. Highly recommended.
I could not say the same thing for this other dentist who "roughly" estimated 6.5K for my procedures with no breakdown. And what do you know, I see charges on my insurance that are questionable. I went for a consulation/xray and I see a charges for an emergency treatment?! OUT of their mind.

Dr. Mark Sommer is the consummate professional. He is extremely knowledgeable, diligent and goes to great lengths to explain each and every procedure. His ultimate priority is the comfort of the patient. In short, he is the best dentist I've ever met, and I've been treated by more than a few.
