Each morning, I wake looking forward to the day ahead of me. Seeing my patients, whether they are established or new, sharing stories and laughter, and working with them toward exceptional oral health, makes my days rewarding.
When a new patient comes in, one who has had bad dental experiences in the past and has avoided care for some time, I know that I can help them. Providing reassurance, listening to their fears, and ensuring that all the treatments are free from pain and discomfort, and then seeing their rejuvenated smiles once treatment is complete, is incredible. The same is true when I work with the younger patients, who may be making their first visit to a dentist. For them, my staff and I strive to make their experience positive and fun.
I graduated from the University of Iowa in 1972, and then served in the United States Army until 1980. A firm believer in continuing education, because I know it is essential that I am able to provide my patients with up-to-date dental treatments and treatment options, I attend many lectures, seminars, and dental conferences each year. I am also an adjunct professor with the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, and previously taught as a professor at the University of Texas, San Antonio Dental School.
While caring for my patients keeps me busy, I find some time to relax. However, I like to stay active, so relaxing for me often involves golfing, skiing, and exercising. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and my lovely wife of many years, and watching sports while settled into my recliner, with my two beagles in my lap.
