Dr. Michael J. Paesani grew up in western Maryland near Deep Creek Lake, MD. In addition to recognition for overall academic excellence, he also received several distinguished honors and awards including induction into Phi Beta Kappa – a prestigious honor society whose past members include 17 US Presidents and 39 Supreme Court Justices. Dr. Paesani was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa – the premiere biology honor society in the United States. Dr. Paesani then chose to pursue his graduate education at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, his first choice institution to entering into his selected field of dentistry.
After four years of preparation and hard work, he decided that a general practice residency would provide the advanced training necessary to deliver the best possible care to his patients. The industry-praised Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL gave Dr. Paesani the opportunity to further expand his skill set in several phases of dentistry including root canal therapy, dental implants, oral surgery, and the treatment of medically compromised patients. Dr. Paesani was able to effectively utilize his skills at Davie Dental, a family oriented private practice in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Looking for an opportunity to move closer to his hometown, Dr. Paesani met with Dr. Lawrence Banker about his thriving practice near Arlington, VA, as Dr. Banker was beginning his transition into retirement. The two quickly discovered that they shared similar philosophies on their conservative approaches to patient treatment, with a significant emphasis on long-term patient care. In September 2012, Dr. Paesani relocated to the greater-Washington, DC area, and began practicing full-time in Falls Church, VA with Dr. Banker.

The hygienist who worked with me (I believe her name was Nicole) was so kind and accommodating which really helped calm my nerves after having a negative experience during my last dental appointment at a different office. She did a great job explaining everything as she was doing it so I knew exactly what to expect. I only briefly saw Dr. Paesani since I thankfully didn’t have any major issues that needed attention but he was also kind and helpful! I’ve already booked my next cleaning and am glad to have found a dentist I can stick with in the area. :)

I was told I needed 3 fillings. His assistant was good-natured and kept me laughing, but Paesani was a jerk. He was resting his left hand inside my mouth and applied too much pressure. I winced and motioned for him to back off when he dug into a tooth too hard and he got an attitude with me. The hygienist understood and apologized on his behalf. The offended tooth caused almost unbearable pain until I got a root canal and a crown (from someone else, thank goodness) which almost tripled the total for the treatment. I have not been back since and my mouth is much happier.

I'm a Nervous Nelly when it comes to pain, and past experiences with crowns hadn't helped to alleviate my weenie-ness. Dr. Paesani went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable, numb, and understood what was going on. The heated, massaging dentist chair helped, too! Shout out to Dana, who assisted Dr. Paesani with my crown re-do and provided him with excellent assistance, and me with just the right amount of chit-chat while she took a master craftsman's time getting the temporary crown just right. Today was my 2nd appointment for a partial bridge fitting, the first was a week ago, yet when I met with Dr. Paesani it was like only 10 minutes and not a week had passed between his knowledge of my dental needs. There was some confusion on my use of ZocDoc. The system made it seem that I was coming in for an emergency instead of a routine check-up. I wouldn't be surprised if I clicked on the wrong option somewhere. Dr. Paesani and his staff were friendly and accommodating, switching contexts into a new patient exam to do comprehensive x-rays and schedule a follow up cleaning. Highly recommended.

Dr Paesani was pleasant and got right to business. There was no talking over me while he worked and none of the ridiculous questions most dentists ask, which you can never answer because their hands are in your mouth. Diane, the dental hygienist was gentle and took her time to explain what she was doing step by step. Overall it was pleasant, quick experience.

I decided to switch to NOVA Dental Studio despite being happy with my previous dentist due to NOVA's close proximity to my residence. I couldn't have been happier with my choice! The staff was courteous & friendly and I was able to schedule an appointment with great ease. I was also impressed with the thoroughness of the cleaning I received. It was evident that my hygenist really knew what she was doing. A great experience all around!
