More about Dr. Nicole Jane, DDS, MS
Dr. Jane was born February 16, 1971 and grew up in Edenville, Michigan — a small community located near Midland. She was fortunate to have Sanford Lake in her backyard and spent her childhood swimming, boating, and ice skating, as well as performing as a gymnast in national competitions. Dr. Jane’s father worked for the State of Michigan, her mother was a teacher at Midland Public Schools, and summers were spent in the motor home traveling to various historic places in the U.S. such as Williamsburg, Virginia, Mt. Rushmore, and others.
By age 13, Dr. Jane anticipated becoming an orthodontist and upon graduation from Meridian High School studied biology at the University of Iowa. She returned home to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan in 1998. Having been awarded a scholarship in dental school with the U.S. Navy, Dr. Jane served her country as the dental officer of the USS Carter Hall (LSD-50) in Norfolk, Virginia. In this position, she was responsible for the dental health of roughly 625 sailors and Marines and traveled through the Panama Canal, around South America, Western Africa, and Europe. Returning to the University of Michigan for her Master of Science in orthodontics, she received this degree in 2004. She practiced in South Lake Tahoe, California for seven years before returning home to join the orthodontic practice of Drs. Ginzler and Shaw.
Dr. Jane has been utilizing SureSmile® in her orthodontic practice since 2005. This technology uses the latest advances to plan for efficient tooth movement. Your teeth are aligned using a computer model so that every necessary movement can be calculated and programmed into your braces and wires with the doctor’s guidance. By combining this with SPEED Braces™, treatment times can be greatly reduced!
In addition, Dr. Jane is one of the few orthodontists in the country who is qualified in the use of lingual braces. These braces are placed on the back of the teeth so they are completely invisible. You can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing!
Dr. Jane loves practicing orthodontics and helping her patients gain increased self-esteem from their smile. To ensure her patients are getting the best possible care, she regularly attends orthodontic meetings to keep up to date with the newest technologies and materials. In fact, Dr. Jane has become so well educated, that she is sought after for her SureSmile knowledge and teaches this technique to orthodontists around the country.
