Dr. Oscar Castaneda has provided maxillofacial dental services to Houston area residents since 1998. Originally from Honduras, he earned his undergraduate degree and his dental degree in 1978 at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras. Post graduate residencies at University of Texas Dental Branch and MD Anderson Hospital from 1978-1983 allowed him to develop greater expertise in hospital based surgical, medical and anesthesia training. As an oral and maxillofacial prosthodontist, Dr. Oscar Castaneda manages a wide variety of problems relation to the mouth, teeth, jaws and facial regions. He provides treatment for TMJ, Sleep Apnea, Implants, Crowns/Bridges/Dentures, and management of head and neck sequels of cancer.

I think Dr Castaneda was the dentist that out family has been looking for extremely helpful and takes the time to show what are the problem areas. Give options on how to fix them! Absolutely loved my visit! I would highly recommend.

When I went to Dr. Castaneda, I was in a great deal of pain and I felt awful.
From the moment I walked in, Dr. Castaneda and his staff did everything to ensure my comfort and took excellent care of me.
Dr. Castaneda is kind and very compassionate and has a pleasant and friendly manner. His staff is great and I felt very comfortable.
I would highly recommend Dr. Castaneda.

I trust them to only recommend dental procedures I actually need. I know they care more about my health than they do about making money. They always take the extra step to make me feel special. I always enjoy my appointments here. They always make sure to return my phone call as soon as possible. They've never left me waiting. They have some of the best customer service I have ever seen. Putting their customers first is definitely a priority here and it shows.

I met Dr. Castaneda about 17 years ago after I had been diagnosed with squamous cell mouth cancer he was called to assist with my surgery which consisted of the removal of several teeth & part of the Palete of the right side of my mouth. He immediately built a device to cure that defect & had me eating & talking like my old self in no time. Without that device when I would take a drink of water it would pour out of my nose so you can imagine how happy his help has made me. I believe he calls this device an opterature. It has serviced me well all of these years until I had a tooth pulled that helped hold it in place. It would not stay in place properly so I got on the internet & found my old Dr & he fixed me right up. He had me a bridge built to replace that tooth & I am thankfully enjoying eating & drinking normally again.

Dr. Castaneda has been my oncologist dentist for 8 years. He has seen m through some very difficult times. He made the prosthesis to protect my tongue when I had radiation. Because of the radiation and damage to my teeth he has done several root canals, crowns and even a dental implant. Dr. Castaneda is one of the most compassionate dentist I have ever known. He really takes care of his cancer patients and for that I am very pleased and happy. I love my dentist!
