She understood the issue wevame to her with and made suggestions. We have to consult with a therapist before we can begin, but we are hopeful the problem will be resolved and our baby will be able to eat normally again soon. It was such a relief to have a doctor who listened to what we were saying, saw everything and finally put the whole puzzle together.

Our daughter had a tongue tie and two lip ties and Dr. Jaju did a wonderful job taking care of them. She took extra time in the consult to put our minds at ease and explain the process in detail and answer all our questions.

Dr. Rishita Jaju is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She has acheived the Advanced Laser Proficiency Certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Her expertise in using Waterlaser safely and effectively is recognized by the World Clinical Laser Institute with their highest Mastership Certification.
She received her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington, DC where she continues to serve as a clinical faculty. She has been active in research related to newborn pain management, children with special needs and craniofacial anomalies such as cleft lip and palate, since her dental studies at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. As a CNMC LEND Fellow (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities), she gained a unique perspective into the lives and treatment of children with medical or behavioral special needs such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Downs Syndrome, Neural tube defects, Epilepsy, traumatic brain injury and various genetic defects.
Dr. Rishita routinely receives referrals of even the most challenging cases from pediatricians, lactation consultants and other dentists. She feels blessed to have earned a range of professional accolades and the respect of her professional peers.
Dr. Jaju is well published in many areas of pediatric dentistry including care for patients with special needs, behavior guidance, esthetic dentistry, pain management, and laser dentistry. She has provided numerous seminars and training for introducing and promoting the benefits of lasers applications in dentistry to area general dentists, pediatricians, lactation consultants and speech pathologists.

We brought our 4 month old daughter in to release an upper lip tie. For 4 months, we have been battling our way through tongue and lip issues, resulting in low milk supply, in order to be able to breastfeed. After seeing numerous doctors, ENTs, and lactation consultants, no one was able to make things better for us, and we were told to leave the lip tie alone.
4 months in, we looked into this option with hopes that it might make a positive difference. With all that we've been through, we needed a caring and gentle approach, and that's just what we found at Smile Wonders. The environment was warm and friendly, and all of the staff were incredibly kind.
During our consultation, Dr. Jaju confirmed my daughter had a lip tie, but also that she had a tongue tie as well. She was mindful enough to recommend that we have a lactation consultant lined up before the procedure was done, and gave me some recommendations. After we walked out I was able to get in touch with an LC and make a quick appointment, and we asked if Dr. Jaju could still fit us in that day. The whole staff worked to fit us in that same day, and did not make us feel rushed or that we inconvenienced them. The procedure itself took probably about 6 minutes and my daughter seemed to really like the staff members who worked with her.
Overall this was a great experience when it could have been very stressful. I would recommend Dr. Jaju and Smile Wonders to any parent with an infant with lip or tongue issues!

Dr. Jaju is an exceptional pediatric dentist. She listened to all our concerns and presented options for care. We needed to have a tongue tie release done for our infant and she was recommended to us. She was gentle with our daughter and performed the necessary work quickly. She even checked in with us later in the evening to make sure we were doing well. She went above and beyond in the care of our child.

I highly recommend! I was recommended to this practice for my 6 week old's lip and tongue ties and I was unsure if I wanted to proceed with having them corrected. Rashita Jaju not only made me understand the pros and cons of the procedure, she made me and my son feel comfortable, heard, and ultimately very well cared for. After the procedure, my son was very uncomfortable for that first afternoon and I was still doubting myself for my decision to proceed. Jaju provided me reassurance and even her personal cell phone for the evening so I could provide updates and ask questions. Even though I knew in my head that I had made the right decision to correct the ties, my heart hurt sering my son unhappy and Jaju couldn't have been more supportive and reassuring. Now 3 weeks later, I'm without any doubts the procedure was beneficial - my son's latch has improved, he's eating better, gaining wait, and breastfeeding is more comfortable. And Jaju's support and highly skilled techniques and precision (using a water laser) made this a very positive experience.

We love Dr. Rishita. She is so passionate, caring and genuienly loves her patients. The office is extremely clean and decorated beautifully to suit children of all ages. iPads , toys everything a child needs for a fun dental visit. We wouldn't pick another dentist.

Dr. Jaju was great. Very professional and personable and clearly a star in her field. My 2 1/2 year old son had extensive lip and tongue ties and Dr. Jaju was instrumental in guiding us through the process and performing very thorough releases of each affected area. Although I was very concerned about the sedation element of the procedure, given the squirmy nature of the patient it was clear that sedation was necessary in order to get a complete release at each spot and I am very glad I trusted her expert judgment.

going in for my 3 month olds frenectomy could not have been an easier process. The thought was making me very nervous, but Dr. Rishita and her staff were amazing in every way. Dr. Jaju and staff were super friendly, knowledge, and compassionate. The office is very clean and welcoming. Dr. Jaju took her time with us, was very thorough explaining the procedure (lip and tongue tie), and she answered any questions we had. I never once felt rushed; she even cuddled and sang to my daughter to calm her down after the procedure. Also, received a text message from her that night asking how my daughter was doing. Wow!!! I can't think of any other doctor doing this. She definitely went above and beyond the call of duty. I would highly recommend Dr. Jaju to anyone. She was worth the hour and a half drive. Thank you Dr. Jaju for taking such good care of our little princess.

My daughters have been seeing Dr. Jaju since they were 3. She is very nice and professional, and always takes her time to listen and to explain things. We love her new office, and staff members. The place is very kid friendly with toys, ipads, TVs to keep kids entertained. There is a nursing room for Mothers with babies, and an office for working parents while they wait.

Dr. Jaju has been described as a "trial blazer" in the field. Even though our pediatrician recommended against the procedure (this is a new practice). We decided to go ahead with it. We're glad we did - both for short & long term benefits, and glad we saw Dr. Jaju.
