Ever since he can remember, he dreamed of becoming “Dr. Paulson” and working in a medical field so that he could help other people. Inspiration came when he was 13 years old; he finally got his braces and headgear removed after six years of orthodontic treatment. He vividly remembers walking out of the orthodontist’s office with a radiant, new smile. He realized then and there that he wanted to be able to give others the same happy, confident smile that his dentists and orthodontists had given him – and the rest is history!
Dr. Paulson’s college career started at Loyola University in Chicago, where he was on the pre-dental board for two years. Following that, he worked as a dental assistant for a year and a half in Gurnee, IL gaining valuable experience in the dental office environment before pursuing his dental doctorate at Midwestern University in Downers Grove. Throughout dental school, he continued to work as a dental assistant on Saturdays.
He has completed several continuing education courses, including ones focused on composite restorations, crown and bridgework, endodontics, dental implant restorations, and sleep apnea therapy. He is also currently a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society.
Dr. Paulson is proud to have the best parents in the world, as well as two younger brothers. Outside of visiting with family, his biggest hobbies include playing sports (especially tennis and golf), exploring downtown Chicago and Wheaton, and trying lots of different restaurants.
