More about Dr. Sam Merabi, DMD, MPH
Dr. Merabi grew up in Massachusetts and attended college at Brandeis University, Waltham. He then worked for several years at Franciscan Childrens’ Hospital as a Mental Health Specialist. After some work experience, he attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, for his D.M.D. where he obtained awards in both community service and research including an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, a MassHealth Access Program Scholarship, multiple awards for research, and The Presidential Award for Citizenship and Public Service. He further earned an M.P.H. from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Merabi has worked for Cambridge Health Alliance as an Attending Dentist teaching Dental Residents in general practice. He has been an Instructor for Harvard School of Dental Medicine for several years and enjoys working with first year dental students on international projects. Dr. Merabi is a founding board member of two Massachusetts based non-profits including Here Today Adopted Tomorrow Animal Sanctuary.
In addition, Dr. Merabi devotes his free time to work in Malawi after having served as Chief Oral Health Advisor for the charitable program, Raising Malawi which was co-founded by Madonna. His current work in Malawi deals with clean water development in rural villages of the Mchinji District.
Dr. Merabi was named by the Massachusetts Dental Society as one of the 2010 Ten Under 10, a recognition that awards ten young dentists in The Commonwealth who have been in practice under ten years and that have made significant contributions to the profession.
After practicing in Central Massachusetts and the Boston area for many years, Dr. Merabi was thrilled to relocate to Newburyport and considers himself very lucky to lead an amazing team in a beautiful and dynamic city. He is dedicated to the practice of life-long ethical and high quality dentistry.

Dr. Merabi and his staff were very professional and friendly. I was very nervous about the procedure. Dr. Merabi explained it all to me and it made me feel much better. I'm very happy with the results. I would recommend Dr. Merabi to everyone. He is very conservative and caring.
