About Dr. Svetlana Gomer
The year was 1999. Dr. Svetlana Gomer, her husband Dr. Mikhail Gomer, and their 1 year old daughter had moved to Cleveland, OH from their home in Ukraine. They had no work and spoke very little English. Although they had support from their local community, they were compelled to grasp and hold on to their yearning desire deep within. A desire for a life not present, yet visible in their dreams. Having earned their degrees in dentistry prior to coming to the United States, Dr. Gomer and her husband had to apply and attend dental school all over again in order to practice. Dedicated to their craft, they both slowly picked up the pieces and worked their way back to what it is they felt that they were meant to do. “My husband and I love our profession. It was a no-brainer for us to take the chance and go for what we wanted – to practice in a country we now consider home, a country we love. We are very fortunate and happy to be able to live and work in the United States.” Dr. Gomer is now a successful businesswoman, owning a flourishing practice in Tewksbury, MA with her husband. Having graduated from Boston University Dental School, she and her husband decided to settle and practice in Massachusetts. “The journey here wasn’t an easy one. It was difficult but necessary. I remember a time when I was a dental assistant. I learned a lot about myself – that I can accomplish anything if I put my mind to it. That I am not too proud and willing to do whatever it takes to live a beautiful life with my family. I also gained perspective. I remember meeting lovely people from all different backgrounds. Coming from Ukraine, I didn’t have this pleasure of learning about different cultures. At my job, I was exposed to different cuisines and languages. My coworkers and I would share each others food over our lunch break. It was really beautiful. To this day we keep in touch. I also feel like this experience has helped me become a better practitioner."

Dr. Svetlana Gomer was extremely gentle and caring with me knowing that I had dental anxiety. She cleaned my teeth up nicely with little to no pain at all, and her husband did a great job with my crown as well. I appreciate finally finding a dentist that cares about not only my well being but my teeth health as well. I felt very welcomed.

Honestly a lovely dentist place but operations could be improved. I filled out all required information through ZocDoc & was told I had to fill out the information again for their office records, a bit redundant . The front desk service worker was a bit chatty for my liking, made conversation about random things as I was in a rush to get to work. The cleaning and service by the dentist was perfect. Overall, nice place with friendly people, I just hoped they would be mindful of other people’s time and work out a better system for paperwork.

The entire staff are so caring. I am a highly sensitive patient, and every measure is taken to ensure a comfortable experience as much as possible. The expertise in the services are second to none. I started going there in 2014, and my only regret is that I didn't know about this practice earlier in life. The environment is welcoming and kept clean to a higher standard. I wish both Dr Gomers were doctors in my hospital, as I would trust them in my complete whole body medical care.

Office claims they are delta dental ppo and in network so I went to them for X-rays and cavity fillings and asked before doing anything if they are ppo and multiple people in their office said they were. After my third visit I found out that they are NOT delta dental ppo and when I went in to tell them that insurance said they were out of network, they still said they were in network and tried to keep me with them.
DO NOT go to this dentist office before checking with insurance company itself because they continuously claimed that they were ppo.

I don't love going to he dentist so when I absolutely need something done, I'll go to these guys. I had a couple cavities filled last year and am in the process of getting a crown on a chipped tooth. Dr S. Gomer is very good at communicating the process as well as giving instruction on what I need to do when she is doing the procedure. She is frequently making sure that I'm comfortable and has a great bedside manner-treating you like a person, not a set of teeth needing repair. I believe I felt as physically comfortable as I could in a situation where your mouth has to hang open. So far I'm happy with both minor procedure experiences and both routine cleanings over the last year. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and I rarely wait over 5 mins for my appointments.

On the day of my appointment I expected to have one of my teeth filled. Although I arrived at the dentist's a little bit ahead of time, I didn't have to wait more than 3 minutes at most - and that was a really good beginning that determined an excellent ending! My tooth was filled in no time at all! The result was beyond my best expectations! Thank you Svetlana Gomer! You are the best! Ant your staff is amazing! Now I am very, very happy!

I just appointed for a cleaning, but the doctor tried pushing me to do other treatments without telling me that it is not 100% covered by my insurance. I finally said I will do some research on that and maybe will do it later, which disappointed her. She is not patient, at least to me, at all.
