Not sure a lot of people look forward to their dentist appointment but I DO. Dr Abousy and her vast experience is unique. She always makes me (and my entire family) feel comfortable and talks to us about what work needs to be done and when she does it she always does it like a pro.

Throughout her career, Dr. Abousy has illustrated a passion for dentistry, both through teaching in various prestigious universities and through practicing general dentistry for over thirty years.
She continuously strives to provide the ultimate experience for patients by ensuring that they are comfortable, informed and confident about their treatment plans and subsequent, successful, results.
She values her time with her patients, emphasizing the need to provide patients with personal care that exceeds their expectations. Having experience working and teaching in several countries provides her with the skill and insight in understanding patient needs no matter the patients’ background. As both an academic and a dental professional, she is committed to educating patients about their dental health and advancing the patient doctor relationship.
Dr. Abousy obtained her dental degree from Baghdad University. She later earned her masters in Dental Science, specializing in Fixed Prosthodontics, from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. She has been practicing at several locations in Northern Virginia since 1996. Iris Dental Care, in Vienna, Virginia, is the newest of these locations, which opened its doors in December 2013 and is currently accepting new patients. Dr. Abousy lives Northern Virginia with her husband, Dr. Al Abousy, who is also a dentist, and her three children.

Dr. Abousy is great! No other way to put it...and her staff is outstanding. She explains issues relating to any identified dental issues and then tells you first what the approach to solving the issue will be. I had multiple dental issues a few years ago and recently and she corrected those issues quickly and in a high quality manner. Simply stated, she is the kind of dentist all dentists should be.
