Excellent! Very professional! Dr. Nair made me feel relaxed & let me know everything that she was doing. Her staff is always friendly, helpful & professional! I would recommend them to anyone!

Dr. Shalini Nair always knew she wanted to go into healthcare. Inspired by her father who is a physician, she grew up knowing she wanted to be in a profession that helped people. During her undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Dr. Nair was further influenced by her own general dentist and started having aspirations to become a general dentist herself. With dentistry, she saw the opportunity to not only help people with their overall dental health, but also see the difference she could make by improving a person’s overall dental health, smile and confidence, while also having the time and flexibility to form personal relationships with her patients. Dr. Nair was accepted into the University of Medicine and Dentistry at New Jersey (UMDNJ) in the Master’s in Biomedical Sciences program, after which she was accepted into the dental school at UMDNJ. She graduated in 2008 and went on to become one of two residents at the highly competitive one year dental residency at JFK Medical Center, where she received advanced dental training from dentists and specialists and hospital, as well as having the opportunity to shadow many of those dentists at their private practices.
After completing her residency, Dr. Nair took the time off to take her honeymoon (yes, she also managed to get married while she was in her residency!), and soon after began working in private practice in New Jersey. Dr. Nair and her husband chose to move back to the South, to be closer to family as well as open her own dental practice, Good Dental Care. She is excited to be back home, and to be a quality provider of exceptional dental services. On her off time, Dr. Nair loves spending time with her family and friends, especially her husband. She enjoys travelling, cooking, trying out new cuisines, practicing yoga, watching movies, and listening to music.
