I am terrified of the dentist, which led to me skipping it for a while. I was nervous to go because I knew I’d inevitably get a lecture, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Dr. Mixson and her staff were kind, informative, patient, and nice. She made sure everything was comfortable and painless, and gave me helpful pointers to reduce pain moving forward. I honestly left smiling and looking forward to coming back.

Dr. Mixson has been in practice in the Brookhaven / Atlanta area for the past 17 years. She practices family, general, and cosmetic dentistry.
Growing up outside of Tallahassee, FL, she grew up cheering on the Florida State Seminoles. Later, she attended the University of Florida. She received her Bachelors of Science in nursing from the University of Florida in 1997. She has maintained split loyalty to both school ever since. After graduation she was a Registered Nurse prior to pursuing her dream of becoming a dentist. Improving her patients’ health has always been her passion.
She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Florida in 2001. She has post doctoral continued training at some of the most prestigious and respected dental centers in the world and industry: the Dawson Center (St. Petersburg, FL, the Frank Spears Institute (Scottsdale, AZ).
Dr. Mixson lives in Buckhead/Chastain park with husband and 2 children. She is a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church. She has had privileges to be part of medical missionaries, Flying Doctors of America, serving in Peru extracting hundreds of teeth.

I actually enjoy coming to Dr Mixson. She and her assistant are both professional & friendly. They go out of their way to make the patient comfortable and at ease. Dr. Mixson was the latest advancement in dentistry that made cleaning the teeth & feeling carefree a pleasant experience. I am glad that Dr. Mixson is my dentist.
