Born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, Commander Toni-Ann Hylton Mayembe embarked on her academic journey at Florida A&M University before achieving her dental degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha in 2012. Driven by an early desire to positively impact the world, she initially aspired to become an advisor to the president on environmental affairs, inspired by her exposure to environmental sciences. While at FAMU, Commander Hylton discovered her calling in healthcare, realizing the profound difference she could make in someone's life by enhancing their health and smile. This realization, coupled with a personal transformation through dentistry, led her to pursue a career as a dentist. Commander Hylton was subsequently accepted to Creighton University School of Dentistry. Recognizing her dedication to community service, Creighton University honored Commander Hylton with the HS-MACA Community Service Award. Driven by a passion for serving her community, she generously volunteers her time to provide dental care for independent, non-profit organizations in Jacksonville, Florida. A proud Commander in the Navy, Dr. Hylton is committed to upholding the compassion, integrity, and clinical excellence for which she is known. Serving patients with the latest technology, she particularly enjoys working with children and enhancing the smiles of adults. Commander Hylton enjoys watching WWE or cherishing family moments with her husband and two young boys when not serving patients or sailors.
