Being head doctor in Moscow Central Institute of Dentistry Dr.Kanatov got his PhD in Biochemical Aspects of Dental Implants.He was affiliated with top dental centers in Italy,Australia and Germany.After moving to the United States Dr.Kanatov continued his degree at New York University College of Dentistry.
He has literally completed hundreds of hours studying with some of the greatest minds of dentistry and perfecting dental techniques that most dentist shy away from. is double billing and billing for optional procideures, not covered by insirance. Does not honor the fee schedule set in the insirance plan. Tried to force me to sign a Gurantee, whether or not the insirance cov ered the work while sitting in the exam room and when I asked questions REFUSED to do the work. Rude, Dishonest. speaks very poor English.

Cleaning was a bit abrasive. I had to ask for floss afterwards. Not very friendly staff. They don't give you a little dentist bag, either. No one even escorted me out. I'll prob change dentists when I'm up for a cleaning again. They got the job done, just lots of room for improvement.

My visit was horrible! Not only did I sit in the waiting room for an hour and half past my appointment time but once I was actually seen things didn't get much better. The dental hygienist was rough with the x rays and the actual teeth cleaning was rushed and by far the worst I have ever received at a Dentist. She was not thorough at all.
Once the dentist finally showed, he spent a grand total of 2 minutes tops with me. He opened my mouth and said, "you have cavity" and walked out. He then came back to interrogate me on my brushing habits. The dentist didn't investigate or really examine any of my teeth, he just drew a quick conclusion and left. On my way out they presented me with a bill to get the cavities filled in the future and claimed my insurance covers nothing, when if fact they would cover the majority of the treatment. These guys really need to get their act together.
Bottom Line: This dentist is rude, condescending, and won't give you the time of day, even after spending an eternity waiting to see him. I won't be coming back and will be finding a new dentist for a second opinion.

This man's inability to maintain a respectful social interaction is astounding. My experience was more like an interrogation than a clinical exam. The bullying began when Dr. Kanatov asked me how often I brush. When I told him that I brushed twice a day, he explicitly accused me of lying. How condescending. He then asked me how much I flossed and when I told him that I flossed twice a day, he proceeded to shame me for my terrible oral hygiene, asserting that flossing any less than after every meal is not good enough. He spent the rest of the time berating me because he didn't like the work of my last dentist. I was humiliated and treated like a misbehaving child. When we go to the dentist, we place ourselves in a vulnerable position, and for some reason Dr. Kanatov feels a need to abuse that dynamic. Fortunately, the work I got done was not too complicated, but I would be fearful to go to him with anything more complex. Ask yourself: Can someone who cares so little about another person truly be invested in their dental well being? Obviously, I never went back and found a wonderful new dentist. The work he does may be adequate, but there are so many dentists out there who will do great work, treat you with respect, and you'll leave with a beautiful smiling and feeling wonderful. I implore you, just search a little longer for a a different dentist, you don't have to settle for this grizzly bear!
