Dr. Will Eunku Chung earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from prestigious Seoul National University College of Dentistry. After a few years of working as a general practitioner, he decided to focus on the subject of his interest; Restorative, Implant and Prosthetic dentistry. He came to Seattle, and completed his specialty certificate in prosthodontics and master of science in dentistry degree at the University of Washington Graduate Prosthodontics Program. During more than 3 years of his specialty training, he was trained for dental implants both surgically and prosthetically.
He was a full time assistant professor at the University of Texas Houston Dental Branch until early 2009. He led the team of specialists/professors including an orthodontist, periodontist, and oral surgeon to treat patients with congenital deformities such as ectodermal dysplasia or incontinentia pigmenti. Currently, he serves as an affiliate assistant professor to the University of Washington Graduate Prosthodontic program.
He has spoken on multiple subjects in implant and prosthetic dentistry nationally and internationally to dental professionals and students. He is also serving as an outside expert reviewer for the implant journal, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants.
Dr. Chung is also a compassionate dentist. He believes that what he enjoys today in his life are gifts from the community and loves to give back. He has been volunteering with Medical Teams International treating referred patients for surgical extractions over the weekend time. He was directly involved in denture projects for tent city people as well.

My Visit was actually with Dr. Russell Johnson. Great experience with Rusty. He is thorough, professional, knowledgable, excellent with communication, never rushed and listens to my questions with serious consideration. Needed a bridge reglued after routine cleaning. A bit delayed due to something going on with other patient or patients. No big deal. A little disappointing but this sort of thing happens and cannot be avoided. Otherwise, the usual excellent service and attention.

Considering that my office visit involved dental implant surgery, it went as well as it could have. Would I rather be hiking in the Cascades ? Yes. But since I needed to have a dental implant installed, I'm glad I was there to experience their excellent carpentry. And the staff were all gracious, attentive, and sympathetic.

Dr Chung just completed 10 crowns in a row for me after a botched veneer attempt by a Mexican dentist. The crowns are beautiful, and flossing them is just right, no snags, not too tight or too loose. Two of the crowns were molar replacements, which the Mexican dentist had also replaced just 6 months earlier, because that dentist had made them too short for a good bite. Turned out that dentist had also left decay and leaky temporary filler underneath one of them, probably too afraid of causing a need for a root canal. Dr Chung was thankfully able to remove it all, before replacing the crown. If you want it done well and right, I'd recommend Dr Chung. And beware of Mexican dentists.

I have a great deal of confidence both in Dr. Chung's skill and in his integrity. He came highly recommended by my former dentist, now retired. His resume is impressive and he is quite experienced in his area of expertise: implants and restorative dentistry. Dr Chung explains my situation, procedures and options patiently and in clear terms and displays visuals as well. Final results are very good -- my teeth look and feel good as new. Procedures are fairly painless. The office in the Medical/Dental building is attractive (and I appreciate the massaging dental chair). Primarily, however, my teeth are critically important to me, I have always taken good care of them, I want the best possible care for them, and here I feel I am in good hands, with a knowledgeable, trustworthy, experienced professional.

Overall the visit was very good. Dr. Chung is very thorough, honest, and knowledgeable. He explained his approach and advised that my concern was purely aesthetic and not necessary - aka the quality of previous dental work had excellent longevity.
His office is very nice in the lobby, but the patient/dentist workstations are small and a bit cluttered with cords etc. I prefer a more clinical look. But hey, it's downtown Seattle so space is tight. Also, some more patient amenities like music, tv, etc would be great - I've had this at other dental offices.
Will I go back? - yep, he's has a very convenient early (7am) appointment times.
