Wonderful surgeon. Very knowledgeable and experienced, friendly, and understanding to any questions I had. Office staff is personable and thorough. Had a great cleaning from the dental hygienist that took the time to clean with detail. Came back for wisdom tooth extraction with local anesthesia; was the best experience because I didn't feel a thing and was surprised it was so quickly handled with care! Will definitely go back.

Dr. Yamen Akhras is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He also received certification in health care management from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Akhras enjoys general dentistry and strives to offer his patients all the services they need under one roof. After completing his dental implant training at the Misch Institute, Dr. Akhras has since moved on to orthodontics and now offers conventional braces as well as Invisalign treatment. Within the next year, in-office IV sedation (twilight sedation) will be offered at his Orland Park location. Dr. Akhras has traveled extensively in North America to bring back up-to-date dental knowledge to his patients with the goal of offering dental services that meet or exceed the standard of care. He currently resides with his wife in the Southwest suburb area and is very active in the community.

Dr.Akhras and his entire staff went above and beyond to make my dental experience both comfortable and pleasant. I was extremely nervous prior to coming in, but I my nervousness began to dissappear from the moment I was greeted at the door. There was no wait to see the doctor, which is always a bonus for any type of patient. Dr.Akhras and his assistant were very professional, thorough, and his bedside manner is excellent and refreshing. This truly was the first time I had ever been to a dentist that made me feel eager to come back for my next appointment. Quality people, service, and experience all around.

I was told by another dentist I would need two root canals done and decided to get a second opinion. At Premier Dental the dentist was able to take care of the problem without doing any root canals and now my mouth feels a lot better. Highly recommended!

Dentists like Dr. Akhras are hard to find. After a painful botched filling gone wrong with my previous dentist I spent months trying to find another dentist who would be willing to fix my tooth. I was in an immense amount of pain that other dentists tried to convince me was "in my head" and that "whatever you're feeling will go away in a few days". Well, those “days” turned to weeks, which turned into months and I was still in pain! I was frustrated and losing hope that none of the other dentists I went to were even listening to me!
That's when I stumbled upon Dr. Akhras. One of my friends had highly recommended him to me, saying that his work ethic and his rapport with patients is unmatched. I didn't believe it after the slew of horrible dentists I had gone through in the last few months, but I thought to myself, "What do I have to lose? I'll give this dentist a shot."
When I had first walked into Dr. Akhras’s office I was immediately impressed by how cordial the members of his staff were to me. I arrived a little early, but his staff was able to accommodate me. After filling out paperwork I waited only a few minutes before I was ushered to one of the exam room. This was a rare occurrence for me as I’m used to waiting over half an hour with bitter and cranky receptionists. A few moments later Dr. Akhras came in.
Dr. Akhras was warm and friendly, and unlike other dentists I had been to I did not feel rushed! I proceeded to give him a 15 minute cliff-notes version of the tooth-nightmare I had been living for the last several months, and he was incredibly patient. Like I said, I did not feel rushed. He did not interrupt me to get to the “actual dental issue” I had been having. He listened patiently to my grievances. And when it came time for me to ask him questions, he was knowledgeable, and seemed to have an abundant supply of patience with my never-ending amount of questions.
After my side of the story and a quick (yet thorough) inspection and exam of my teeth and a few xrays, he was able to figure out what was wrong with my teeth. Long story short, I needed a root canal and crown done to fix the previous dentist’s botched work. I will say that I had never gotten either a root canal or a crown done, but I have heard the horror stories. However, with Dr. Akhras, at least for me, none of those horror stories turned out to be true. Both procedures were done quickly and painlessly. And even after the procedures were done Dr. Akhras had called and followed up with me in the days after to see how I was doing because he understood how scarred I was from my negative experiences from the previous dentists.
I highly, highly recommend Dr. Akhras. He’s my main dentist now. Unlike the other dentists I had been to he doesn’t look at you like a “bag of money”, nor does he rush you. He takes his time with each patient, and gives them the respect that they each deserve.
