The staff were very friendly and professional, the energy of the practice was very calming. Dr. Kana Tovar was really nice, she took the time to explain what my options were for he work I was going to have done and when she cleaned my teeth she had a very gentle touch. I would definitely recommend this practice.

The front desk had called me to come 15-20 mins early as I was a new patient and they wanted to get all documentation so I did so. Once that was done wait was too long. I saw couple of patients who came after me and had later appointments were taken in before me. I had to wait about 40 mins which was not the best experience.
After the nurse that attended me was quite hastily. She kept mumbling that she is running too late and was little rough.
The doctor is good but not the support staff.
Will give one more try.

I literally only saw her for 2 mins. The dentist assistant was the amazing one. She did everything. So, She's really the one I'm giving 5 stars.
With the receptionist, the one that first attended to me was nice and patient. The other one was snubbish

I had been to this office about two other times but this was my last time. The dentist was professional and did her job. The receptionist however was a disaster. She charged me for something that's covered by my insurance (which I called to verify since she insisted and I was right). She spoke on behalf of the dentist even though she had no clue what she was talking about and when I asked her to call the dentist out she gave me the run around. I have not been back to this office. I like the dentist's work but dealing with the front desk is a disaster and justified finding someone else.
It's a shame.

I felt a bit like I was at a factory farm-- my cleaning was rough and didn't seem thorough, as if they were rushing me through to get more patients in. My diagnosis felt cursory and very little time was taken to address my questions or explain thoroughly. All in all I was unimpressed.

Best dental experience I've had in NYC. Admin staff were lovely (went the extra mile to help me find my insurance information) and Dr Kanatova and her assistants are great practitioners with great bed side manner.

Fast and totally professional. Also highly upfront with fees and had obviously thoroughly checked my insurance (which was not the case with my prior dentist) which was great. Reasonable and not looking to push extra procedures on me!

This was not my first time here but definitely my last. I had to wait 35 minutes before I mentioned something and then was called a few minutes after that. I know waiting is not out of the ordinary, but longer than it takes to do a procedure is ridiculous. It also defeats the purpose of the appointment system and for me the convenience of the office.
I needed to do 2 fillings, both on wisdom teeth. I also asked the dentist if it was possible to change a filling on a side tooth to white since it was very visible. She responded that she would have to check the X-ray because if the filling was too deep she wouldn't recommend it.
When the dentist finished however she just left and I sat there waiting until the assistant came by and said you're done. She never mentioned whether she would be able to change the existing filling to white, to say she was done or much less a good bye.
The receptionist who seems sweet comes off as not very knowledgable. She took 6 minutes, looking up God knows what on her computer to tell me I had to pay because the doctor did white fillings. Filings are covered by my insurance and I've done them there before and never been charged. But more surprising why do white on Wisdom teeth which no one including myself can see. She did not change my existing filling or even respond to whether she could as she said she would.
The receptionist clearly trying to recover asked whether I wanted to change it back to metal if I didn't want to pay?! Then she said they didn't do metal fillings anymore but if I did (which is even more confusing) I would also have to pay anyway. She then added that the dentist couldn't do the change in one day which was a bold lie since the dentist said she could but just didn't remember obviously...pathetic flailing is what it was on the receptionists part.
Needless to say I will never go back or recommend this place. I was skeptical of the many bad reviews but now it all makes sense. I need a dentist to actually answer my questions being that I'm entrusting them.
If you don't read the entire review just take away to GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

I did not have a pleasant experience with this dentist at all. The office is dirty, the equipment is outdated, and everyone who worked there (with the exception of the dental hygienist) was very cold. I will not be coming back.

I was really impressed by the punctuality of the office of Dr. Yuliya Kanatova and also that Dr. Kanatova made an effort to take care of my filling needs the same day of my consultation. She also went out of her way to make sure I got a teeth cleaning the same day, even though I wasn't scheduled for one..

I have seen many dentist and was never satisfied with any of them, they had an unpleasant attitude and the office reflected their uninviting personality. When I had my first visit at this office it immediately gave me a good feeling. I'm very pleased with DR Kanatova and the way she handle herself with me. This was my first visit with Dr. Kanatova and so far I can say I am very pleased. I went to her for a second opinion, and plan to stay with her. I am very relieved that she, unlike another dentist I visited prior to her, did not try to push unnecessary treatments on me. I had a pretty bad gut feeling about the previous dentist I visited, but that's a whole other story (glad I explored other options). Front desk/reception are friendly and inviting, did a good job explaining what exact payments I will be responsible for. Technician was also kind and professional. Very clean office. Overall satisfied and hoping I've finally found a dentist to stay with!

Nice enough staff, but this practice is not for the faint of heart! There's a strong sense of hurry and a slight disregard for minor pain that is a little unnerving, but both the cleaning and filling replacement that I had done were satisfactory. To say the least, you will not be pampered or babied. If you're prone to anxiety, this is not the place for you. If you just want the job done quick, fast, and in a hurry, give 'me a try.

The dentist and the dental hygienist were both extremely nice, as was the front desk attendant. The cleaning was neither the best nor the worst I've received.
That said, Dr. Kanatova never actually checked my teeth manually; she only looked at x-rays. As I've found out through previous bad experiences, when dentists only look at x-rays, it's hard catch cavities that form on the biting surfaces of the teeth. So I won't be going back, and will be getting another check-up soon to see if I need any fillings.
