The office was efficient and personal, front desk Christy was warm and friendly. Melanie PA was compassionate and thorough. Directions on procedure was explained clearly.
Day of procedure went smoothly and well, no unexpected issues or concerns. I would recommend this office for GI needs. Whole team at the hospital was exceptional.

Had a rushed intro session with Aaron Burrows. Didn’t feel overly listened to or that he wanted to take the time to hear all symptoms and understand the purpose of my visit. Did not do a good job of explaining what we will be testing for and left the appointment feeling uncertain of our path forward. Will likely get a second opinion before moving forward with procedures.

I went to this appointment because I want to target what foods upset my stomach. This doctor “doesn’t believe in food sensitivities”. Which is odd for a gastroenterologist. They sent me home with tests I have to schedule myself, and no clear information about my condition. I felt like it was a waste of both time and money

This is my first time seeing this doctor and I have to congratulate his office for replacing the archaic clipboard and paperwork with iPads to modernize the gathering of new patient info. It’s much easier for the person supplying the info, and I imagine it’s a godsend for the office staff who no longer have to struggle to decipher people’s illegible handwriting.
The front office staff wasn’t exactly what I would have representing my practice, however. My biggest complaint with these ladies was their never ending chatter in which several comments were made that ranged from questionable to downright unprofessional. All made worse by either a total lack of concern for who might be listening, or their inability to grasp the concept of using “inside voices.”
Otherwise, Dr. Burrows himself was an affable man, which made the overall atmosphere comfortable and relaxed, but never strayed from total professionalism, even momentarily.
I look forward to my next visit with him.

Do not go here. They completely missed my appointment and we’re very rude and unhelpful in getting me in once I was in the office.

He was staring at his computer the whole time and didnt even listen to my case history. He blanketly made recommendations. Horrible experience.

My 18 year old son has extreme anxiety about his health and needed to hear from a specialist that what he was experiencing was not anything to worry about and very normal. Living in his world, we don't always find doctors that are willing to cater to his emotional needs by slowing down, explaining in a non judging way with words he can understand, answering all questions with no condescension and generally putting his mental health at the same level priority as his physical health. Dr. Burrows did all of the above and then some! Highly recommended!

Completely unprofessional — complete lack of patient care. He was in a hurry. Didn’t seem to care about my presence at all. All he wanted was to get me in and out. Have never experienced a complete lack of interest in the patient like this before in my life. He will not care about you or your issues

Terrible experience. I came in because I had been having gastro issues for awhile. He dismissed my concerns and basically gaslighted me, making me feel like I had made up my symptoms. I didn't go to a primary care doctor first because I have great insurance, and he told me that I was wasting his time by not getting a referral first. More like he wasted my time being dismissive, smug, and rude. I hope he understands that doesn't make him "real" or unique, just a bad doctor.

Dr. Burrows basically saved my life by taking my symptoms seriously and pushing for a same day CT which in turn sent me to the ER. I found him to be competent and helpful. Thank you Dr. Burrows.

I was at first taken back by his personality, until I understood what was expected and it all clicked together. He even paid close attention to my symptoms, and gave me possibility of reasons as to why it could be happening. Releived my stress and anxiety after the ER left me in tears, thinking I was moments away from dying. This guy is straight to the point and factual, not very many people like him still exist. Take advantage of the knowledge while you can when visiting!

I initially found Dr. Burrows because he was the only provider in network for me according to ZocDoc.
When I came in, Dr. Burrows had a medical student initially examine me alone and then came in after to give recommendations. He is very blunt with his bedside manner and does not care much for small chat (the medical student had much better bedside manner than he did) but seemed to have a reasonable suggestion for follow up after I had also reviewed options with a second opinion.
After I got an endoscopy by him given it's safe nature as a procedure I received no follow up call from him regarding my biopsies or blood-work/ultrasound results, and after a week of no follow ups from him or his staff (I was told by ultrasound technician and nurse that the endoscopy/ultrasound/blood results should have a turnaround time for 2-3 days) I called in to actively pursue the results of my test. I also inquired about 2 medical questions after the endoscopy and did not receive any feedback regarding either of them.
I relied only on ZocDoc when booking my appointment so I had not checked the Google reviews and am surprised at how common a theme I found among my experience and theirs. I was also surprised how brash Dr. Burrow's responses to their posts were as well (PS, if you do write in response to this, please don't claim you never saw me as a patient or that I'm writing a fictitious review like you did to Keri S).
I am very disappointing with the quality of my care from Dr. Burrows and do not recommend him to anyone.

He was super cool and super chill. He listened to me and was super honest and upfront which I highly respect. He's a funny guy too so the appointment was fun and a breeze. Overall the best experience I've had at a doctors office yet.

He was thorough, but to the point. He also had great answers to my question, and was ultimately action/solution oriented. I always appreciate that in a doctor.

Definitely knew what he was talking about, however, I felt very dismissed when I was explaining the issues I have been experiencing over the past three years. Very rude as some points, and I got the impression that he thought I was not coming in for a legitimate GI issue.
March 5, 2019Annika M.Verified patient
I thought he was generally unprofessional. I was unaware that a medical student would be assisting him, and I felt that he was treating me more than Dr. Burrows. It felt more like I was having a casual conversation with someone as opposed to seeking treatment for a serious condition.

My wife has been to other GI doctors in the Denver area. She described her experiences with those doctors and it reinforced how I felt after my visit: like I just wasted several hours of my time and left with absolutely no useful information related to the reason for my visit. First impressions: doctor was wearing a puffy winter jacket in the office, drinking a beverage from a chik-fil-a cup and texting with his wife during my appointment about his upcoming vacation. Seeking care from another doctor.

The office staff was very nice, but that's where the good review ends. I found the whole process of seeing the doctor in his office, then going to an exam room for a cursory exam, and then back to his office a little odd. The assisting doctor (who actually was nice and personable) summarized my concerns to Dr. Burrows, at which point Burrows turns to me and says "well, what do you want me to do about it?" I understand that perhaps there was nothing he could really treat when it comes to acid reflux, but there are far better ways to convey that. He sounded ready to give up and like this was a waste of time, which is very unpleasant when I've been dealing with discomfort on a daily basis. Would not recommend to anyone.

I waited over an hour and a half for my appointment. Only to be told after explaining my symptoms that I would need to come back for additional testing and they would reach out to me for scheduling!

Office was clean and staff was friendly. Didn’t wait long for dr and all insurance info was precooked because booking on zocdoc. All around great experience

I found Dr. Burrows' office staff professional, well-organized and appropriately charming. They made preparing for a necessary, inconvenient and unpleasant (I dread the after-effects of anesthetic) more tolerable. The only annoying experience I had was that prior to the procedure the anesthesiologist seemed to have mistakenly assumed I might find being teased with lightly sexualized innuendo entertaining. Not so. I don't believe that belongs in any professional relationship and I'd like to think she was just having a bad day and somehow read my likely receptiveness to it as being 180' in the wrong direction.
