Great experience! The most thorough exam my son has ever had. We were explained what was happening, how important water and diet is, even how an ekg reading is measured. My boys and I totally had the best experience. We will be spreading the word about this center. They honestly cannot wait to go back! Ha!! Thank you to all of the staff and PA as well as nurses! 5 stars all the way!

Dr. Adanma Okwara is both a Physician and Administrator at First Care Medical Clinic. She earned her medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas in St. Kitts, Nevis in 2002. Upon successful completion of the Family Medicine Residency Program at the Mercer University School of Medicine, Dr. Okwara continued her education by earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. After relocating to North Carolina, she joined First Care Medical Clinic’s team of providers in 2011.
Dr. Okwara is board certified in family medicine through the American Association of Family Medicine. She is also certified as a Medical Review Officer through the American Association of Medical Review Officers. She is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society, Mecklenburg County Medical Society, and Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas. Dr. Okwara enjoys family medicine as it offers the opportunity to treat patients of all ages and to develop long term patient relationships.
Dr. Okwara is actively involved in community efforts. She is published in Diabetes Educator for her focus group findings in developing a church based diabetes prevention program with African Americans in Macon, Georgia. Dr. Okwara has completed research for diabetes prevention in the community, and cervical cancer in African women.

The person who called for details and to confirm my appointment did not notify me that the clinic did not care for pregnant women. I was uninformed that they perform ultrasounds for everything except pregnancy. My information I provided for this site was not transferred to their office. I was also not told about the copay. Very disappointing visit overall. Luckily the doctor handled it well and made me feel a bit better.
