Dr. Amy Kiatthanapaiboon, DO

Primary Care Doctor
7110 Lawyers Rd, Charlotte, NC
In medical school, I found something to love in every rotation, but family medicine especially stood out. I was inspired by the breadth of knowledge it requires; the diversity of patients you meet across all ages, genders and backgrounds; and the opportunity to build lasting relationships through continuity of care. Every day in family medicine brings something new, and that variety is both energizing and deeply rewarding. My clinical interests include preventive care and palliative care. I enjoy helping patients stay well and supporting them with compassion when they're facing serious illness. That stems, in part, from my work as a certified nursing assistant in a nursing home during and after college. That experience demonstrated to me the importance of showing up for people during their most vulnerable times. As a doctor, I strive to listen closely, care deeply and walk alongside patients through every stage of life. My approach to care is a collaborative one. I believe the best outcomes happen when patients and physicians work together as a team. I focus on tailoring care to each patient's unique needs and emphasize evidence-based medicine and quality of life. Whether we're managing a chronic condition or focusing on prevention, my goal is to support patients in making informed decisions that align with their values and health goals. Having been born and raised in Charlotte, it's especially meaningful to care for patients in the community I grew up in. My heritage is multicultural (Japanese and Thai), which has given me an appreciation for cultural identity and diversity. Outside medicine, I enjoy fostering kittens, gardening, hiking - and staying active, in general - and doing anything outdoors. I also love cooking, baking and decorating food, especially when I get to share it with family and friends.
