Great doctor, and I was glad to be able to get in to see him on short notice, but the 75 minute wait was RIDICULOUS. There was another patient there who also had to wait over an hour, so it may be an ongoing issue with this practice. Plan accordingly.

Dr. Adar Berghoff joined MetroDerm, P.C. in 2011 as a general dermatologist and dermatopathologist.
He works with patients in all three MetroDerm offices.
Dr. Berghoff obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then attended the University of North Carolina School of Medicine for his medical education and achieved the high honors of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. He began his postgraduate medical training in the United States Navy in 2001 and served on active duty for six years as a primary care physician and flight surgeon. After leaving the Navy, Dr. Berghoff completed his residency in dermatology followed by a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He began his practice of dermatology during his fellowship, which included time supervising and training residents. He has expertise in all aspects of general dermatology as well as cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Berghoff’s recent achievements include a research grant awarded by the Skin Cancer Foundation in 2009, which served to fund his study of the proteomic signature of melanocytic lesions. He has given lectures and presentations locally and nationally and has authored multiple publications in dermatology and dermatopathology.
Dr. Berghoff is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He is also involved with the Atlanta Association of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.

Great experience all around, from the front desk, to my nurse, and Dr. Berghoff himself. He preformed the skin check and biopsy himself, whereas in many offices it's the PA. You can see he's well credentialed, but what you can't see from his resume is that you immediately get the feeling that he really does care about you. He heard out my concerns, and reassured me that everything would be ok. I feel well taken care of, and way less stressed out about things.

I made an appointment for a skin cancer screening. When I was called into the office, about an hour and a half after my arrival, the nurse seemed surprised as to the nature of my visit. The examination by the doctor seemed cursory at best. My last dermatologist, who recently retired, would use a magnifying glass and very bright light and make a note of the position and size of any mole on my body for future comparison. This doctor did not.
While Dr. Berghoff was friendly and pleasant enough, I don't think I will be going back to him next year for my annual skin cancer screening. Hopefully he didn't miss anything that could cause me a problem.

Honestly, I was late to my appt, but it still took almost two hours (got there at 9:30 was seen at 11:18) for my five year old to be seen. She was only there for skin discoloration, and although the physician was nice, the visit lasted five minutes. i am not joking. I didn't realize the office was so busy but silly me, it's near hospitals. I never write reviews, but I was really disappointed. But the physician is great. So if you have time to spare, make an appt! I don't think I will be back though.
