Dr Kuppusamy was born in Puerto Rico, and speaks Spanish fluently. After graduating from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) with his medical degree, Dr. Kuppusamy completed a residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Dr. Kuppusamy believes in placing patients’ needs first and treating them with the same respect and compassion with which he would treat his own friends and family members. Dr. Kuppusamy has a down-to-earth approach to medicine, and places a high emphasis on the doctor-patient relationship. He stresses the idea that a major role of a physician is to educate patients regarding their ailments and all their available treatment options.
Dr. Kuppusamy feels that the best part helping individuals struggling with chronic pain is the opportunity to not only help the patient, but to also change the lives of those around them. Pain can prevent us from fully participating in life. By eradicating pain, a person can return to a meaningful and fulfilling life and also more fully enjoy the precious time that is spent with their loved ones. Dr. Kuppusamy is committed to helping his patients live a pain free and fulfilling life.
