Dr Alan Garely is the Division Director of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. His practice is limited to female pelvic floor disorders. This includes problems such as uterine and vaginal prolapse, complication from previous surgery and pelvis fistulas. Dr Garely is a pioneer in minimally invasive pelvic surgical procedures and has developed the mini-lap approach. He has lectured and operated around the world. After study in Sweden, he was among the first surgeons to perform and teach the TVT sting.
Dr Garely has served on the Board of Directors for the American Urogynecologic Society and remains on the Finance Committee. He has been active in fellowship programs in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at both the Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans and her at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr Garely and his team work closely with Colo-rectal Surgeons, Urologists, and Plastic Surgeons to bring state of the art care to our patients.

I visited the office in Rockville Centre and met Dr. Garely and the staff for the first time. Dr. Garely greeted me with a warm smile and was very pleasant throughout the visit. He was very professional, thorough, and took the time to explain everything. He certainly knows his business. All my questions were answered. The staff in the office were very nice, especially Nurse Sonia who did her utmost to ensure I was comfortable. Her customer service skills far exceeded my expectations. I was all done in one hour and and twenty minutes because I had checked in online.

I reviewed Dr. Garely before but I need to do another one because he is absolutely fantastic!
He is so attentive and caring, unlike many doctors who are dismissive, especially to women, people of color, and younger patients. On my first visit, I was in tears because I had been living with pelvic pain most of my life. I had been to at least 6 other doctors who didn’t listen, didn’t care, told me it’s in my head- nothings wrong, and two even tried to rip me off by recommending treatment I didn’t need. I’m glad I kept searching. I was desperate for someone to help me, and Dr. Garley did. He examined me, immediately knew what was wrong, and suggested a appropriate course of treatment. He left me with kind words and, more importantly, hope.
I returned for a two follow up visits, the first (two months) I reported 80% improvement; the second (four months) he asked about my pain and I said “what pain?!” Today (6 months), my most recent visit to Dr. Garely, I was crying before he entered the room. Tears of joy! And when he walked in, I burst into laughter and he laughed with me knowing exactly why: I was so ecstatic that my treatment has been going so well! He asked a few questions and told me the process for the remainder of the treatment, but most of the time was spent just reveling in the happiness I felt- After almost 20 years (I am 32), I am completely pain free and I owe my health and my sanity to Dr. Garely!
He is a GREAT doctor! I wish he could be my dentist too (cuz that lady is scary)!

Would have appreciated not feeling somewhat rushed after waiting so long to see him and being a bit more informed (telling me what he was doing before doing it). His assistant was also very nonchalant about him being behind schedule and seemed to have an attitude and more occupied with getting her lunch order in (Chinese). Doctor seemed overwhelmed by both professional and private life (two phone calls while I waited for his undivided attention). I think I will stick with my old doc, not impressed at all by the service and bedside manner all around.
