I've always loved working with children. I discovered my passion for the art of healing while volunteering at hospitals in my youth. Pediatric medicine was such a natural career choice that I like to say that pediatrics chose me. It's great to heal children when they are sick, but it's also extremely rewarding to help them grow and achieve their greatest potential. It's a privilege to follow a family for many years and to watch a child grow up right before my eyes. To know I've played a part in their successful growth is very fulfilling. The best part of my job is forming relationships with my patients and their families. Open communication is the most important part of a doctorpatient relationship. It's a two-way street. With every single visit, I encourage parents to voice their questions and concerns so we can work together to create a care plan. I make sure that both the children and their parents feel like they've been heard. I treat all my patients as I would treat my own child — with care and compassion — because I know just how precious they are.
