Dr. Liwag, better known as Dr. Alex to his patients, was born in the Philippines and moved to New Jersey when he was a toddler. He attended grammar school in Jersey City and later graduated from Marlboro High School in Monmouth County. Dr. Alex earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. He then returned to his homeland to attend St. Louis University School of Medicine in Baguio City, Philippines, where he graduated in the top 25% of his class with a Doctor of Medicine degree. Returning to Monmouth County with his family, he completed his pediatric residency training at Monmouth Medical Center. He has been happily working as a pediatrician since completing his training in 25. Dr. Alex lives in Monmouth County with his wife, two children, and one furry friend.
