Dr. Allison Nabours, owner of Aloha Natural Medicine, received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Certificate of Midwifery from Bastyr University in 2011. Dr. Nabours holds a license to practice as a Naturopathic Physician in the states of Hawaii and Washington. During her studies at Bastyr, Dr. Nabours focused her alternative health care training in women’s health and naturopathic pediatrics. She furthered her expertise by completing additional coursework and clinical training in advanced pediatrics, craniosacral therapy, childbirth education, lactation education, infant and maternal nutrition, advanced gynecology, botanical medicine and neonatology. Prior to medical school, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Ecology from Rice University.
As a primary care provider, she combines her knowledge and experience with both naturopathic and conventional approaches to provide individualized and integrative health care for the whole family. Dr. Nabours is particularly passionate about naturopathic pediatric care, women’s health, fertility, and craniosacral therapy. Through her work as a midwife, Dr. Nabours' love for and belief in the importance of holistic pediatric care grew. Starting early in life with good health builds a solid foundation for optimal wellness throughout one’s life and into future generations.
Naturopathic diet and lifestyle recommendations weave their way into almost every visit, and medications and procedures are used when they are needed for more significant issues. Visits for newborns and babies are geared toward monitoring and celebrating growth and development and providing breastfeeding support. She finds joy in helping parents gain confidence as caregivers for their little ones at home when they are sick, and she offers same day appointments for children when they need office care.
Dr. Nabours is a professional member of the Hawaii Society of Naturopathic Physicians and the Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and is a certified lactation educator. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, exploring nature, cooking, learning how to play the ukulele, and reading.
