DR PERNIC WAS SO PROFESSIONAL AND APPROACHABLE. SHE SPENT MORE TIME WITH ME THAN I EXPECTED HER TO AND REALLY EXPLAINED ALL OF MY OPTIONS. WHITSON VISION REALLY HAS A LOT TO OFFER ITS PATIENTS I EVEN GOT MY GLASSES FROM THEM. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING DR PERNIC!

Allison A. Pernic, M.D. is very excited to be the newest practitioner to join Whitson Vision. Her enthusiasm, easy-going nature, and deep commitment to excellent patient care make her a valuable contribution to the practice.
Dr. Pernic specializes in medical and surgical management of a variety of ophthalmologic conditions including dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and ophthalmic plastic surgery including functional blepharoplasty.
Dr. Pernic was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, and after completing her undergraduate education at Northwestern University, she returned to Indiana to earn her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. She then successfully completed her internship at St. Vincent Hospital and ophthalmology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, both in Indianapolis.
Building relationships with patients is Dr. Pernic’s focus and she feels the daily opportunity to help someone is truly rewarding. She was honored when her humanistic approach to medicine was recognized through induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, first as a medical student and then again as an ophthalmology resident. With meticulous attention to detail and an individualized, thoughtful approach to each patient, she strives to provide each patient with impeccable care.

Dr. Pernic was very nice and knowledgeable. During my visit she was able to provide me with a lot of feedback and multiple options to help with my problems. The supplements she recommend worked great. Finally happy that I found a great eye doctor that was able to help with my dry eyes.

Dr. Pernic told me about a lens implant option that I didn't know was available. She was easy to talk with and thoroughly explained the surgery option answering all of my questions. I feel confident that I am getting excellent care with Dr. Pernic

Dr. Pernic had a wonderful bedside manner. She spent a lot of time with me during my exam, answering all of my questions thoroughly. She is obviously very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain your eye condition with you. She does not rush through the exam like other doctors I have seen. I plan to have everyone in my family see her for eye exams.

Dr. Pernic was very thorough & explained my dry eye condition. She was very nice & took her time. At the end of the exam she recommended a fish oil vitamin that the office sells that really seems to help. I liked the convenience of the in house vitamins!
