Dr. Pierce began her training with a Bachelor's degree in biochemistry/Cell Biology from UC San Diego, and went on to receive her doctorate with honors from UC Berkeley School of Optometry. She has furthered her expertise regarding ocular disease with a residency at the West Los Angeles VA Hospital, specializing in Primary Eye Care and Geriatrics. Dr. Pierce is certified to diagnose and treat a wide variety of eye diseases, including glaucoma, and is able to perform minor surgical procedures. She is a member of the San Diego County Optometric Society, California Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. She enjoys spending time with her new husband, cooking, baking pies, and reading science fiction.
