Great experience very informative. Took me same day even though my insurance didn't cover and kept it at a reasonable price. I was diagnosed with blepharitus and she explained what this is and treatments available. Now with my new insurance I'm covered so will definitely see her again if I have any eye problems.

Allison S. Walz was born and raised in North Platte, Nebraska. She then went on to the University of Wyoming where she graduated with a degree in Health Sciences and a minor in Psychology. While at college, she was on the university's dance team performing at half time of all sporting events.
Dr. Walz received her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2009. While in optometry school, she was the president of the Contact Lens Society, the student liaison for the College of Optometrists for Vision Development (COVD), and headed up the fundraising for Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH). In 2008, she went on a mission trip to Honduras where they provided over 5,000 eye exams and performed over 25 cataract extractions.
Dr. Walz is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She has been with Dr. Steinmetz and Associates for 6 years. She has a special interest in pediatrics and bifocal contact lenses.
