Althea graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice- Psychiatry. She also has a Master of Arts in Counseling from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. So I have mixed feelings about the treatment I received. While she gave me a diagnosis that made sense, the treatment was rushed and follow up was not seen through. It was incredibly difficult to get a hold of her office and instead of a Maryland office sending in the prescriptions, a Virginia office did numerous times and that pushed back medication over a week. It was also odd to be asked to take a genetics test off a random website from a company she also wasn't terrible familiar with.

Althea is honestly amazing. She listened to my story, was super observant, and really seemed like she gave a shoot about me and my problems. I was trying to start up treatment again for a legitimate problem and can understand how that comes off to some providers, but she was very understanding and got me on my way to better mental health. The only thing I would fix is a better system in which I can reach her. The office is not the most reliable, and often times I have to wait on a receptionist to call me back as soon as they can/listen to my voicemail. That being said, the receptionists, espcially Lauren, are amazing and super friendly. I just wish I could reach someone via chat/text and could get responses sooner.
