I am usually not fond of Dr. visits due to impersonal treatment and feeling that I was no more than a number on an assembly line. Alyn J. Kim, MD is an Otolaryngologist/Head & Neck Surgeon as well as a fellowship trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. After graduating UCLA School of Medicine, she completed her residency in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Kim was then one of fewer than 50 candidates selected worldwide to complete a prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Kim has published articles and chapters on facial aging, revision rhinoplasty, suture suspension techniques, free flap surgery, and thyroid surgery. In addition to treating a wide range of adult and pediatric ear, nose, and throat conditions, her professional interests include rhinoplasty, Asian eyelid surgery, facelift, otoplasty, Mohs reconstruction, and aging face surgery.

Dr. Kim was great! I'm having issues with her office staff on the phone, though. An [soundings like] older woman who answered my call, does not know what an email address is. My first call, after I asked for an email address to send my sons school audiologist report to, she directed me to the website after I repeated myself to make sure she heard that I needed an email address. I went to the website - nothing. So I called back, went thru a few people - apparently they were trying to get me to the same lady, which I did NOT request, I JUST WANTED AN EMAIL ADDRESS, YOU HAVE ONE OR YOU DONT. This lady STILL gave me the wrong info. She said guilleromsocalearnosethroat.com...I said you need and @ sign, she still didn't get it and put me on hold for the -what seemed to be like - thousandth time...so I just hung up.
When faced with a SIMPLE question, please either say we don't have an email or just give me a proper email address. I don't have time to wait while you are frazzled trying to find an email. :(
My son has a follow up appointment today, let's hope it's better than the phone call...this is our second time here. Wish me luck! ;)

Dr. Kim was terse and thorough. She was able to run more diagnostics than our pediatrician and allowed time for me to ask questions. She also seemed to know a little more about pairing medications than I had heard before, so that was nice. She was not very warm to my daughter, but she wasn't cold-shouldered either - just doesn't seem that into babies.
