Alyssa Middleton, MFTC, is a child and family therapist who helps young people, and the systems around them to heal, grow, and reconnect. She specializes in family therapy as well as individual therapy, using developmentally attuned, experiential, and play-based approaches to help them regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, process big feelings, and build confidence. But she also knows that no child grows in isolation. Alyssa helps parents understand how their child’s symptoms: whether anxiety, shutdowns, anger, or overwhelm, function within the family system, and how lasting change happens when caregivers and siblings learn to support that growth together.
Her work blends the Satir Model, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and play therapy principles. Through this integrative lens, she supports families in strengthening communication, softening stress patterns, and creating emotional safety so children can thrive. In addition to her systemic work, Alyssa provides EMDR therapy for individuals and is currently completing formal EMDR training with ongoing supervision to support clients working through trauma, anxiety, and emotionally overwhelming experiences.
Alyssa offers flexible scheduling, including weekend availability, to make support accessible for busy families. At the Center for Relational & Child Therapy, she creates a warm, collaborative space where clients repair connection, expand emotional resilience, and experience transformative, lasting change.
