Professional Approach: Dr. Laura Simon (she/her) is a licensed psychologist who specializes in providing psychological evaluations to assess children and adults for possible neurodevelopmental, cognitive, behavioral, anxiety or mood, or personality disorders. This includes autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disability, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and more. Dr. Simon also provides individual and family therapy sessions, specializing in youth with autism spectrum disorder or trauma, to improve mental health and generalize behavior in the home, school, and community environments. She incorporates trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy, and aspects of applied behavior analysis into her practice. She is creative and empathetic in her approach to helping people become their best selves. Education: Dr. Laura Simon graduated summa cum laude from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, where she majored in psychology with minors in philosophy and studio art (photography). She earned both her Master of Arts in intellectual and developmental disability psychology and her Doctor of Philosophy in developmental psychology from The Ohio State University, where she has also been teaching various psychology classes as an adjunct professor since 2018. Personal Interests: When she is not in clinic or teaching at The Ohio State University, Dr. Laura Simon enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and two adorable cats. She is often found with a crochet hook or knitting needles in hand. Dr. Simon enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and watching crime shows.

Dr. Laura Simon specializes in Autism evaluations, providing detailed, multi-session assessments tailored to individuals starting as young as 18 months old. These evaluations are conducted exclusively in person at our Gahanna location and are designed to provide an accurate, compassionate diagnostic experience. While Dr. Simon is not offering psychotherapy services for new clients at this time, she is committed to supporting families and individuals through comprehensive and expert Autism evaluations.
