Compassionate and helpful in breaking down treatable problems specifically related to substance use/ abuse in combination with anxiety and depression. You wait to be seen but Dr. Itzkoff makes up for it by not rushing the session. Discussion does not lend itself to timetables well and she embraces that.
After over 20 years of seeing psychiatrists, I can honestly say Amanda is the most compassionate and caring psychiatrist I have dealt with. She truly goes the extra mile. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

She showed up late to the appointment and ended it early. I felt like she was just reading questions off a paper, checking her phone, and not listening to what I was saying.
Kind, thorough and considerate.
Highly recommend! Really listened. Spent extra time with me to be sure I could review all questions! Great bedside manner. Very knowledgeable. Thorough. Empathic. Feel more comfortable than I expected. A gifted doctor.
the best experience I've had with a doctor in a very long time. Dr. I was welcoming, enthusiastic, patient, thoughtful, brilliant, and offered me the hope I have been looking for. She is committed to this as I am! thank god!
what a relief! I met a great, warm, caring doctor. She was extremely intelligent and helped me learn about all the possible treatments for my illness so that i could make the best possible choice for my lifestyle. It was so amazing to finally feel like a person, not just a number, again. Thank you!!
