Amy Guerra, PMHNP, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed in the state of Texas. She completed her undergraduate and graduate nursing education at The University of Texas Health Science Center. Her experience includes working in the Texas Medical Center in the areas of oncology, organ transplant, psychiatric inpatient hospitalization, crisis stabilization, and forensics. Amy is committed to working with the whole patient through medication management, dietary changes, stress management, physical movement and improved sleep practices using a multidisciplinary approach. She is passionate about destigmatizing mental health and improving access to care across cultures. She currently sees patients via telehealth. Outside of the office, Amy spends her time with family. In her free time, you can find her anywhere outdoors attending festivals, exercising, or traveling while exploring different cultures and food.

It feels so nice to finally get help and be heard about my struggles I’ve faced my whole life. Amy is very nice and understanding, listening to all of your needs. I have been struggling to find a good psychiatrist for a such a long time and I finally found a great fit. She has such a calming presence about her that really helps if you’re scared of meeting with a psychiatrist. I just wish I would have came across her sooner!

Amy is wonderful! My previous psychiatrist was via telehealth and they were moving to a practice in a different state. It’s always hard to find a new psychiatrist after you build rapport with someone. I booked on here and the office called me in a matter of hours to go over everything and confirm the appointment. Amy is sweet, friendly, and truly listens. She gave me options of mediations that might help better that I didn’t even know were an option. She really cares about you and takes your concerns into consideration. She is very knowledgeable and helps you understand
things without making you feel stupid. The fact that she is funny is just a bonus!
