Amy Kelmenson, M.D. is a Corneal, Refractive and External Disease Specialist. She sees patients at both our Denver and Lakewood offices.
Dr. Kelmenson is a Denver native and graduated from Cherry Creek High School, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester, NY with degrees in Biology and Spanish. She then completed medical school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. After serving her medical internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado, she went to Florida for her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. She then went on to Tufts New England Eye Center/Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston for her Corneal Fellowship in cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery.
Since finishing her Fellowship she has joined Colorado Ophthalmology Associates and complex and traditional cataract surgery, corneal transplants, refractive surgery as well as specializing in external diseases. She also treats patients with glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, dry eye syndrome, corneal infections, keratoconus, and allergic eye disease just to mention a few.
Dr. Kelmenson is certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Outside of her rewarding profession Dr. Kelmenson enjoys skiing, hiking, playing soccer, running and bicycling.

I had an appointment at the end of the day, but even so, the staff was professional and didn't rush me out the door. I really appreciated this as I had a lot of questions on this visit. I really do not like waiting to see someone after I made the effort to set up an appointment time and was at the appointment before the set time. The young man which did the prechecks for the eye appointment was exceptionally thorough.
