Dr. Amy E. Kim joined MetroDerm, P.C. in 2005 and became a partner of the practice in 2008. Her expertise lies in skin cancer management and Mohs micrographic surgery. Dr. Kim also practices general dermatology, cosmetic dermatology and phlebology. She works with patients in all three MetroDerm offices.
Dr. Kim grew up in Swainsboro, Georgia. She earned her undergraduate degree in 1994 and medical degree in 1998 through the Boston University Seven-Year Combined Medical School Program. While in medical school, Dr. Kim was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. She completed her internal medicine internship in 1999 at Barnes Jewish Hospital of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2003, Dr. Kim completed a four-year research fellowship and dermatology residency at Emory University, where she was chief resident of the program. Following that four-year clinical and research program, Dr. Kim completed a two-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery & cosmetic reconstruction, cutaneous oncology & melanoma, cosmetic surgery, and laser surgery at the University of Michigan in 2005. During her dermatology residency and Mohs fellowship years, Dr. Kim authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and made presentations at the national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology and Society of Investigative Dermatology.
Since joining MetroDerm, P.C. in 2005, Dr. Kim has volunteered her time in the community at multiple skin cancer screenings with the Skin Cancer Foundation, American Academy of Dermatology and Women’s Dermatologic Society. She has also appeared on several local media outlets as an expert on skin cancer.
Additionally, Dr. Kim serves as a volunteer clinical instructor with the Emory University Department of Dermatology where she teaches residents in dermatology and dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Kim is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She holds memberships with the Skin Cancer Foundation, Women’s Dermatologic Society and the Atlanta Association of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.

Today upon check-in I was told that my information from Zoc Doc was not completed so I needed to fill out all 8 forms again. I was so positive that they
were complete that I went back to the ZOC DOC app just to make sure. My forms were there completed with a pre check in. The check-in staffers we young females that were joking loudly about personal things occasionally gazing out to see who heard them in the waiting area. My 2:45pm appt turned into 3:40pm with Dr Kim asking me how was able to schedule this appt? She was more concerned that I obtained a slot on her schedule than my issue at hand. She made me feel like I was NOT a priority since I had somehow obtain this appt. I needed a painful cyst removed from my breast and she said she was not available to do so and had her assistant check w/ another Dr. that could remove it on next week...WTF!!! Who comes to a dermatological surgeon only to be helped by another Dr. almost a week later. This was the worst experience ever and I'm still in pain w/ her attempting to prescribe Ibprofen that I already have at home for PMS. I really don't want to go back there but I need this removed ASAP! Suggestions anyone?
