She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar and Jerome Holland Scholar. She subsequently attended Howard University College of Medicine, where she received numerous academic scholarships and awards, including the prestigious Trustee Scholarship, which is reserved for top-performing students. Following medical school, Dr. Kassim received specialty training in dermatology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Kassim further honed her expertise in cosmetics by completing a fellowship in cosmetic and laser surgery at Advanced Dermatology, P.C., in New York.
Dr. Kassim’s extensive research activities have led to publications in leading dermatology journals including the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy. Dr. Kassim continues to contribute to dermatology research and education by serving as a reviewer for the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and presenting at professional meetings across the country. As a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Kassim treats patients of all ages and has a particular interest in cosmetic and laser procedures.
