Growing up, Dr. Brown was that kid that was endlessly curious, and cannot recall a time in his life before he knew he wanted to be a doctor. This drive was further fueled by key events in his life including interactions between his grandmother and physicians in various settings when his grandfather was ill. Observing the way many physicians interacted with his grandmother and family led to only more questions, uncertainty, and displeasure with the care being provided. The absence of the elements of care and compassion were evident. It was experiences like these that confirmed primary care was the place for Dr. Brown. He saw a need for more patient-focused care, and he filled it.
Though he may have a soft spot for LGBTQ+ patients and LGBTQ+ youth, his passion for care extends to all patients of all ages. With all his patients, Dr. Brown is sure to practice calmly, efficiently, and with great, personal care.
Having 3 siblings and being an uncle to 9 nieces and nephews himself, one of the things Dr. Brown enjoys most about family medicine is the opportunity and ability to see multiple generations in a family all together in a visit.
Being a physician and seeing patients with both La Mesa Family Medical Group and La Mesa Pediatrics provides him with the perfect opportunity to reach a wide range of patients, as well as ensure that patients don’t get lost in the transition from pediatric to adult providers.
Born, raised, and educated in South Florida, Dr. Brown completed his residency in the Los Angeles area. He is now settling into San Diego and loving it.
