I found reception to be very friendly AND it was 7pm closing time. The optician gave me great frame recommendations for my face shape. Andrew Pritchard was very friendly and explained everything well. I did wait almost 30 minutes for my appointment but he took his time during the exam which made the wait worth it. They are very open with people who don't have vision insurance.

“Visiting my family’s optometrist during my younger years sparked my interest in the field of eyecare. The thought of being able to diagnose a variety of eye diseases and look for signs of related systemic (‘whole-body’) disease was very intriguing to me. I went on to earn my Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
“When I started practicing in 1987, my goal was to provide patients with the latest eyecare advances in a caring, personalized environment. Today, I’m proud to say that I still uphold these standards on a daily basis for every patient I see. I will take the time to listen to you, answer your questions and address any concerns that you may have. It’s the same level of care that I would want for my own family members.”
When Dr. Pritchard isn’t keeping his patients’ vision healthy, he likes to spend quality time with his family. He also enjoys running and has completed many races with Dr. Bloom, including the Philadelphia Distance Run and Philadelphia Broad Street Run.

Dr. Pritchard was great but the practice itself has some administrative issues (long wait times, scheduling errors, giving incorrect information, etc.). If you have a busy schedule and can not work around them I would recommend another practice.

I really liked Dr. Pritchard - he was very friendly and did a thorough examination. It was a long wait and the front staff was not very friendly or apologetic, although Dr. Pritchard did apologize when I finally saw him. The office was a little outdated and they did not have any samples of different lenses to try, which i have seen in most appointments.

This is my second time visiting University City Eye Care. I used ZocDoc to schedule with Dr. Pritchard, who I saw my first time but Dr. Zeitlin ended up seeing me. He was who pleasant, friendly, and professional. I would recommend this location for those living in University City.

He didn't spend as much time getting my prescription right as my previous eye doctor and his equipment seemed old. The set up also wasn't good. I had to go in one or two rooms where his assistant did tests, then sit in a sitting area for a decent amount of time, and then go into a final room to finally see the doctor, who seemed rushed and wasn't friendly.

Preferred not to wait so long before being seen. Appt was at 2:30pm, was not called back until after 3pm. I was on my lunch break and didnt expect to be there over an hour. Otherwise, my visit was great.

My visit to Dr. Pritchard's office was a great experience. There is plenty of metered parking in the area, so getting to the office on time was easy. His entire staff was warm and helpful. From check-in to preliminary exams, to choosing glasses- I enjoyed all of my interactions. Dr. Pritchard took an interest in my work and we talked throughout the exams which made the time pass quickly. I will definitely be back.

He remembered the issue I had the last time I came in (after reviewing my chart) and asked me about it, which was over a year ago. He was very thorough and efficient and recommended OTC products that I could purchase as opposed to expensive prescriptions.
