Angela N. Beckford M.D., M.P.H., earned her medical degree from the University of the West Indies Mona, Jamaica where she graduated with Honors in Surgery and was awarded the prestigious surgical medal. Dr. Beckford subsequently was the recipient of the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award on completing a Master of Public Health at Florida International University. She completed an internship in Epidemiology with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Director of Health Promotion and Education Scholarships Program at the Miami Dade Health Department. There she was awarded the Miami-Dade County Health Department’s Health Hero Award for Extraordinary Contribution to the SARS/smallpox national protocol. Dr. Beckford completed her Skin Oncology Fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine where she received the MFD Award for Humanitarianism. She then went on to complete a surgical internship at Lenox Hill Hospital/New York University School of Medicine in Manhattan. Dr. Beckford completed her residency training in dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine.
Dr. Beckford has been involved in numerous dermatologic clinical research trials and has co-authored many published peer-reviewed articles. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic and the Skin of Color Societies. Dr. Beckford’s professional interests include a broad spectrum of dermatologic surgical procedures, skin cancer prevention and early detection.

Very unprofessional, no time to talk, bad service. Left door to the room open & when nurse said there is no injection is available, she went out and closed the door behind her so I do not hear their conversation. And the nurse came back with an injection. She asked me to take blood test but did not give paperwork. Had to go back to get it. Was not even willing to answer any questions I had aand she seemed to be in a hurry. Gave me injection and then asked me to take tablets which resulted in double doze. Even when I asked if it is okay to take medicines orally, she said it is fine and walked away. Asked 2 other doctors and they asked me not to take medicines orally after the injection. She does not care about the patients and is too lazy to even ahve a conversation with patients.

I waited for nearly 45 minutes, with no one else in the waiting room. They never even checked on me nor apologized for the long wait. Dr. Beck Ford was abrupt and rushed. Worst of all, she never called in my prescription as promised, and subsequent messages I left went unanswered.

Very poor bedside manner. Doctor was rough and did not give me time to explain why I was there. When I tried to talk, she asked me to come back again. She seemed very disinterested in her profession.

She was in a rush to get out of the room ASAP. Additionally, she prescribed me a harsh chemical peel even after I told her my skin gets dry and very sensitive. Consequently, my face began to peel and swell, and it burns every time I put Cerave moisturizer on it, which she recommended. I will never go back.

I was really disappointed when visiting Dr. Beckford. She was very nice, however; I felt like my appointment was rushed and I was unheard. I appreciate her as an individual. But I would not go to her for dermatology again. I asked her to do a skin search for moles and updates on my skin, she did not do so. I had a mole that was removed in the past, and given this information, it almost didn't phase her. I also brought with me my medical folder for her to review and we can find a solution for what I am seeing with my skin. She did not even look at my medical history. I just found her to be very dismissive.

long wait. felt very uncomfortable and little effort was put into the patient. Maybe she was behind, because it felt like my appointment had to be rushed, or that I didnt matter. No care instructions given, no talking basically. I had to probe for answers to everything. And I didn't feel a thorough job was done. I had to go to another doctor after.
