Everyone in the office was friendly and efficient. I was a little annoyed that they were unable to tell me how much the visit would be before seeing the doctor, and instead was given a range, but sadly that's no different than most doctors' offices. I still give them high marks, and I'll definitely be back.

Dr. Lam was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Windsor, Ontario. She earned her Doctor of Optometry at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She gained additional ocular disease training through externships at Oschner Clinic in New Orleans, Center of Advanced Ophthalmic Care in Chicago, and at Veterans Hospitals in West Virginia and Detroit. As a kid I always had strong vision but as I get older I have had more trouble with nearsightedness, headaches when reading, eye strain, etc. I wanted this appointment to check in and see whether I should get a script or continue using reading glasses.
The check-in was very easy (thanks ZocDoc!) and the wait in the lobby was not bad-- no more than 20 minutes. However, after my initial consultation with Dr. Lam's assistant, I was left waiting for nearly two hours with my eyes dilated. Then, when Dr. Lam finally came in, she was clearly not invested in the process and rushed through it; she even poked fun at the fact that I had even scheduled the appointment, since it was obvious (to her) I didn't need it at all. She was unprofessional, borderline rude, and appallingly disrespectful of my time. She ended up writing me a prescription even though she had said I didn't really need it, and then took off and left me to find my way back to the lobby with my vision still fuzzy from the drops.
Overall, I thought Eye Associates Northwest was very pleasant and well-run; however, my experience with Dr. Lam was terrible and I will be doing everything I can to avoid her and warn others away in the future.

I showed up to my appointment about 10 minutes earlier than recommended in order to fill out paperwork, since this was my first time at this office. After turning in my forms, I waited about 25 minutes before the attendant did my initial exams. The attendant was very professional, friendly, and answered my questions thoroughly. This was my first time to an optometrist in several years, so I had some questions which she took the time to answer. This was hands down the best part of my visit. After she finished with my preliminary exam, I waited for about 20 minutes before the doctor saw me. While the doctor was friendly, her portion of exam was very rushed and made me feel anxious. She gave me my diagnosis but didn't explain what it meant and didn't answer my follow up questions (I ended up Googling my questions after the exam). I was ushered out of the room feeling like a bother and without having my questions answered. If you are someone who goes to an optometrist all the time and wants to get in and out fast, her style might be better suited for you than for someone like me, but I still wouldn't recommend this place since, in the hour I spent there, only about 15 minutes of it was spent with the doctor or the attendant.

Reception was friendly and efficient. The technician (I'm sorry if that's not her title!!) was quick, but made me laugh the whole time. Lastly, Dr. Lam was friendly and informative. I usually don't write reviews but everyone who worked here was so great I had to say something!

My boss highly recommended the doctor because he has been her long patient and he really likes her. The doctor was very good and her assistant was really great too. They gave me very thorough exam. Not only my eye sights, she also told me about my eye condition and her recommendations for making them better. I really like them.

This was my first ever eye appointment and it was so easy! there was a bit of a wait time at the office, but the staff were all so friendly and the Dr was nice and helpful. They definitely seemed to know what they were doing, and I felt comfortable the whole time. I'll definitely be returning here next time I need an eye exam.

This was my first visit with Dr. Lam. The whole staff was very courteous and warm. There was minimal wait time before one of the assistants helped get me started. Then Dr. Lam came in and explained everything she was doing, showed she cared, was patient, and most importantly seemed very adept in her field. I was very happy with my visit, and would recommend Dr. Lam to anyone.

Overall, my experience at Eye Associates was subpar. Dr. Lam herself seemed completely competent albeit rushed. My frustrations lie with the front desk not communicating a need for a referral from my Primary Care Provider, or that there would be an $80 out of pocket expense for a "contact lens fitting". Had these things been disclosed prior to my checking in, I wouldn't have felt blindsided or lacking customer service. As it stands now, eighty dollars for (no exaggeration) the last two minutes of my time with Dr. Lam is completely obscene. She quite literally handed me a set of lenses to put in, had me re-read the same line of text, checked the power she prescribed against mock frames of a stronger power, then thanked me for my time. When I asked the front desk ( prior to my appt) roughly how long this "fitting" would take, I was told 20-30 minutes. The reality of my "fitting" was a complete joke and a hell of a racket!
