Dr. Sharma was very good but the instructions for video call were not sent/explained properly. It didn’t connect properly. There was no sound. It took several tries and about 20 minutes were wasted on it. But it still didn’t work so ended up doing the session on the phone. That was disappointing.

Dr. Sharma is a general adult psychiatrist. She has been a Midwesterner for most of her life and was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. She stayed in Cincinnati to attend medical school at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and then moved to Chicago where she completed her residency training in psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Sharma is trained in psychiatric medication management of a variety of mental illnesses including but not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, women’s mental health, substance use disorders, and psychosis. In addition to medication management, she also emphasizes the importance of psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, and social support in improvement of mental health. Dr. Sharma believes in having a strong therapeutic alliance with her patients and values a collaborative and holistic approach to managing mental health concerns.
Please note Dr. Sharma’s policy for prescribing stimulants and benzodiazepines: To be considered for stimulants, patients must have neuropsychological testing completed with results that support a diagnosis of ADHD. Additionally, Dr. Sharma does not prescribe benzodiazepines for long-term use.

Very thankful I was able to email with and quickly make an appointment (within 24 hours) to discuss a medication change even though my next scheduled appointment wasn't for 6 weeks. I really appreciate the quickness and responsiveness!
