Annie Valente, MD is a family medicine physician passionate about infusing health care with dignity and humanity. After medical school at the University of California, San Francisco and residency in family medicine in Boise, Annie served as a full-time primary care clinician for five years at a private practice in Portland, Oregon, seeing patients across the entire life course including during pregnancy and through delivery. She has completed a fellowship from the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and uses lifestyle and non-pharmaceutical approaches to support people in both health and times of illness. For the last two years, she worked as a research scientist with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with their data modeling team in women’s, reproductive, and child health, where she continues to work in addition to her role at Carbon Health.
I happily work with patients at all moments of their health care journey with questions large and small. I care about improving the patient experience in our healthcare system by being present for people at the moment they need it, ensuring all members of the care team work together, and by drawing on a diverse range of approaches to promote healing.
