Dr. Anoma Bandara has been practicing internal medicine since 1974. She did her residency at Good Samaritan Hospital/Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and her internship at State University, Buffalo, New York.
Dr. Bandara received a scholarship at the medical school entrance examination in Sri-Lanka and completed five years of training. She completed her internship in Colombo General Hospital, which is one of the leading hospitals in Sri-Lanka. The internship consisted of Surgery and OBGYN.
After the internship, she worked for nine years in Sri-Lanka. In 1982, Dr. Bandara migrated to the United States and worked for a research company in Rockville, MD for five years. In 1991, after completing three years of internship and residency, she joined Montgomery Medical Group. In 1997, she opened her own private practice in Gaithersburg, MD.
