I am new to Portland, from Corvallis. Having lived in Corvallis for many years, I had the same doctors and had not looked for a new doctor in years. I found Dr Pena helpful with a courteous bedside manner. I was pleased to have had an easy process using Zocdoc and am looking forward to developing a good doctor patient relationship with Dr Pena.

As one who had not seen a Physician for a number of years, I was fully prepared for being told that, thanks to my own inattention to health matters, I was now doomed.
Such was not the case. A friendly discussion of "what ails you", a quick scheduling of lab tests & such, and the whole procedure was done in the space of an hour and a half or so.

I've recently moved to portland, got OHS/familycare insurance, and today was my very first appointment with Dr. Pena. Even after I was almost 20 minutes late (heads up: the building is large and somewhat confusing), they took me back right away and the dr came in before the MA was even done with taking my BP and pulse. He then spent an entire hour in the room, asking very thorough questions and giving very thorough answers to my questions, no matter how silly they might have been. As someone who has spent the better part of the last 5 years seeing many doctors and specialists still trying to find a diagnosis for my mysterious chronic joint pain and numerous other symptoms, as well as for management of a sleep disorder, I usually feel like "that patient" when I see a dr.. but Dr. Pena never made me feel that way. I left feeling confident that he was determined to help me finally find answers. That was such a great feeling, and I would recommend Dr. Pena to anyone.

I recently moved from out-of-state and I'm looking for a primary care doctor who can continue treatment for several ongoing issues. Dr. Pena wanted to send me to specialists for every issue, however he did not have referrals or ideas about whom to see. It was apparent that he was not going to treat me and we mutually decided it was not the right fit.

I am a retired nurse from Boston and left my medical practice, with which I was very comfortable, behind. I was concerned about finding another provider in Oregon. Dr Pena was friendly and listened well. Beyond that, he covered all the bases and I felt well taken care of. I am in great health so there were no complex medical issues - prevention was discussed - orders placed.
His medical assistant was lovely.
I was given good discharge instructions.
Overall I am very pleased to have found this practice.

I was amazed at the amount of time Dr. Pena dedicated to my first visit. I was seen almost immediately and we talked for almost 2 hours. I have a number of serious health issues--all were address and discussed, even though my records have not arrived from my last primary care doctor (I'm new to Portland). I am feeling VERY confident about this arrangement and have already learned a great deal of new and helpful information about my conditions. I unreservedly recommend Dr. Pena.
