Healthy Start Pediatrics was established by Dr. Ashima Madan, a double-board-certified pediatrician and newborn specialist with several years of experience at Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Due to Dr. Madan experience to deal with complex cases and NICU graduates. Our goal is to deliver quality personalized care for newborns, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)graduates, and children through 18 years of age from all socioeconomic strata. Our philosophy ofcare grew out of the recognition that easy access and continuity of care provided by a caring, well-trained pediatrician in a small practice setting is the better healthcare delivery model for primary carefor children, whereas large multi-specialty organizations are better-suited for specialized acute andcritical care. We further believe that an investment in preventive care in children through (i) pre- andpost-natal health education, (ii) periodic developmental screens, and (iii) health examinations for earlydetection of disease, is critical for a healthy adulthood, as much of adult health has its antecedents infetal and early childhood phases.
Healthy Start Pediatrics combines the caring and attention of the solo practitioner pediatrician with application of modern technology and recent advances in pediatric care. We provide out-patient care with emphasis on preventive care and education, as well as hospital care for newborns. Our goal is to provide individualized attention and continuity of care.

We recently relocated back to the US after living in Europe for a few years. Our daughter was born abroad so we needed to validate their vaccines and give her any missing one so she could go to the local school.
We brought the vaccine record from Poland (in Polish) the nurse took it and made a plan for the vaccines. Once we got the plan we identified several vaccines that she had already taken. When we asked the attendant she stated that since she could understand what the vaccine record said she was just ignoring all the vaccines that she could not identify instead of asking. We had to drive the conversation and request a second look.
We had to return for a second day of checkups after which there was a form to be filled. We emailed the form to the doctor office and they refused to print it. Stating that we had to go to a nearby printing service (I.e Kinkos) to print it and bring it back or fax it to them. Fortunately, the other offices in the same complex were a lot more reasonable and they printed the form for us.
Wonder what drives them to put so little effort into properly helping their patients. Will not be coming back to this doctors office.

We scheduled an appointment for my 8 year old, to have a rash checked. We get there and they check him in. They inform me he will be getting 2 shots. I informed them that he is fully up to date on all of his shots. The receptionist had to go and recheck. She says "Oh ya, he is fully up to date". So my son would be receiving shots that he wasn't supposed to if I did not speak up!! Then they give him a well check, (without asking me), and the doctor does not even address the rash. I had to be pushy to have it checked. After finally checking it, she shrugs and said she doesn't know what it is. My son was not comfortable with her and we were rushed! Terrible experience. This was his second visit with her and we will not be going back!
