My appointment with Dr Azucena was a little rushed. I went in for two different rashes and she prescribed me the same thing for both, one of which did not help, and told me to come back 2 weeks later. The evaluation did not seem very precise, although it could have been just an unknown rash. She was very nice and friendly. Office is very small and has a lot of samples.

She earned board certification in anatomic pathology after training at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NY, George Washington University, Washington, DC, and completing a fellowship at New York University under the late Bernie Ackerman, MD.
Dr. “Annie” is married to Ambassador Romeo Arguelles from the Philippine Islands and has traveled extensively in diplomatic service to New York, Washington DC, San Francisco, and abroad in Europe, South America, and Asia.
Dr. Arguelles collects art from around the world. In her spare time she enjoys painting, reading, and attending both the ballet and concerts.

Helpful receptionists and Dr was very nice. Ultimately appointment was useless however- there was no detailed history taken, she could not attend to my issue as they don't have several services in house so I need to refer myself elsewhere.
Would have expected for a thorough consultation to evaluate full skin situation given that immediately she identified she couldn't help me. Disappointing waste of time.

She was good. But not thorough. Previous checkups I’ve had checking moles and birthmarks they’ve done super careful, using like a magnifying glass. She just viewed them like in one glimpse. Not so reassuring.

Dr. Arguelles was what I would call a sub-average doctor. Nothing horrific but nothing great either. I do think her vast experience lends her a great deal of confidence because she's seen many things but as a result it lead to her to being dismissive.
I don't really feel like she looked thoroughly at anything I pointed her to, and she kept going on about how I should be grateful for everything I have. I understand that but that's not the point of a doctor's visit.
She also stood in the room while I took off my clothes so she could examine me, that felt really creepy.

She is excellent! Very helpful and kind. She explains everything to you so you understand the medication and the condition properly. I love going to her because she always offers comfort along with her diagnosis and helps me stay calm (even if i've had a bad flare up with my ezcema or anything else)!

My appointment went well, but it was very rushed. I felt that I didn’t get a good chance to talk through what was going on, and she spoke over me often and quickly. The recommended treatment was fine, but the appointment seemed like she didn’t have time for me (even though I was the one in the office). We jumped from topic to topic quickly, and without satisfactory introduction or pause. I’m not sure I would return.

Dr. Arguelles was very helpful! She took the time to help me understand what her diagnosis was. She was very caring while explaining everything to me and empathized with me (about how painful my condition can be). She even offered my sample creams for my flare up. I would highly recommend going to her. I am definitely going to continue with her.
